Aluminium double skin is not offered above 16 m² of opening, because wind works on a light, wide curtain; at that size the foam-filled GI double skin does the same job more strongly. Openings wider than 6 m or taller than 4 m, and shutters inside shopping malls, are priced by our sales team after a visit.
What moves a rolling shutter's price
Size
The curtain is made a little taller than the opening so it can roll into the box above it, and the curtain is the part priced by area. The installation and the motor are fixed amounts, which is why a small shutter costs more per square metre than a large one.
Curtain type
GI single skin is the base; aluminium single skin costs only slightly more; foam-filled GI double skin adds strength, quiet and insulation; aluminium double skin is the premium look; clear polycarbonate keeps the opening visible and costs the most.
Motor
Every new shutter is quoted motorised. The China-made motor is the budget choice; the Italian motor adds AED 1,000 and suits shutters that cycle many times a day.
Extras and terms
A box cover adds AED 2,000. Urgent delivery adds 7% and is paid in full in advance. Paying 100% in advance takes 8% off the price before VAT. Several identical shutters cost the same each.
Which shutter for which building?
Villa garages and carports
A carport or an opening with no roof above it can only take a rolling shutter, because an overhead garage door needs a structure to run under. Foam-filled GI double skin or aluminium single skin are the usual villa choices; clear polycarbonate keeps a carport bright.
Shops and showrooms

Warehouses and stores
GI single or double skin with a motor sized for frequent use. Openings beyond 6 m wide or 4 m high are engineered and priced after a site visit.
Windows

Existing shutters: motorise it or replace the motor
An existing manual shutter can be made automatic without replacing the curtain: AED 3,500 with a China-made motor or AED 4,500 with an Italian motor (+5% VAT). A failed motor on an automatic shutter is replaced for AED 2,000 (+5% VAT).

Lead time, payment and warranty
A standard shutter is installed about 2–3 weeks after confirmation; urgent delivery takes about 7–10 days for 7% more, paid fully in advance. Payment is 80% to start and 20% on handover, or 100% in advance with 8% off.
The warranty is 1 year on the door and motor and 5 years on the powder-coat colour, written on the invoice from the day of handover.
